                                     Mission Statement
To be an advocate for all animals; to promote their humane treatment;                   and to provide services which will enrich all aspects of their lives.

Kalkaska Citizens for Animals
KCA is a grass-roots (all volunteer), non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to addressing issues related to the humane treatment of animals.  The membership consists of volunteers who are all ordinary people, living ordinary lives, with a love of and for animals of all shapes, sizes, and species.  These individuals are united together in a common purpose; and working together with others, are driven to accomplish all that is possible for the benefit of the animals of this area.

KCA has been in existence since 2001.  The organization has assisted the Kalkaska Animal Shelter with many animal issues, including adoption programs, shelter overcrowding, facility needs, and operational requirements.  KCA strives to continue to spay and neuter the majority of the pets at the Shelter to reduce overpopulation and to reduce costs to adopters.  KCA has also sponsored many reduced-cost Spay & Neuter Clinics for the pet owners of the area.

KCA is passionately dedicated to promoting and advertising pet adoptions, and also promotes humane, compassionate attitudes toward all animals.  All pets deserve a loving home; no animal deserves to suffer.

KCA sees ahead to the time when it will occupy a building, expanding services to the Greater Kalkaska Area, and becoming the Humane Society it was organized to be.
